Top 5 Alien Movies!

In honor of District 9's opening, I decided to compile a list of my favorite Cinematic Aliens. While this is not the end all of cinematic Aliens, these are my personal favorites. My list is comprised entirely depending on the creature and not really the films they were in. So with that said. Here's my list. (Note The Prawns from District 9 would have definitely made the list, but I am excluding them just for the sake of this list)

5. The Independence Day Alien
While these creatures were presented a bit one-dimensional in the film Independence Day (1996) ya can't help but feel that this creature was at least cool to look at. It definitely does look intimidating and they were certainly awesome to look at in the film. But this creature does seem pretty cool to me.

4. Sil/Eve from Species (1995) and Species II (1998)
While the first film may have been interesting and the second film was a load of crap, This creature definitely brought something to the table in sci-fi. This creature was also another great creation from the mind of H.R. Giger. I think he did a great job in bringing a creature that was both elegant in design. The creature also had a understandable motive. It wanted to mate with us Humans. That's not entirely too much of a plan for a human invasion, but if all aliens looked like Natasha Henstridge, then it'd be more than possible for it to happen. Overall, an awesome design from the demented and brilliant mind that is H.R. Giger.

3. The Thing from John Carpenter's The Thing
This creature is shapeless and can be you. What a fantastic creature this was. The film is just dripping with uncertaintly and the conclusion even leaves you with the feeling that you just dunno who to trust, much less yourself. Overall, fantastically demented creature and some spine chilling transformations definitely put this guy at a high place in my list. For those who still haven't seen Carpenter's classic remake, go watch it now!

2. Predator from Predator Franchise
This creature is a silent hunter that hunts only for the game. He doesn't want to destroy the world, he just wants to find the deadliest catch and hang it's skull on it's trophy wall. He also uses some of the most unique weaponry in an alien universe and they all have some pretty nasty results! This creature also has friggin mandibles and a kickass mask. I don't think I can make myself any clearer on why this creature is fantastic.
"if it bleeds, we can kill it"

1. The Alien from the Alien Franchise
This creature is just so damn awesome. Another product from the dementedly brilliant mind of H.R. Giger! Who else can come up with a creature that bleeds acid; has a pretty awesome tail; has teeth on it's tongue; can crawl on walls; and has one of the greatest and nastiest births in all movie history: They have to burst out of your chest after impregnating you with a face hugger. They also love dark and claustrophobic spaces and are terrifying because they have no sense of motivation, they just want to reproduce until they are swarming the locale. Overall, a fantastic creature that is just gettin raped by 20th Century Fox. 2 great films turn into 4 horribly bad films. Hopfully Ridley Scott can redeem this creature with the upcoming prequel. Alien you are my #1 man!

Now I know I am goin to get flack for not including
Klatu from Day the Earth Stood Still, the Martians from Mars Attacks, or even the Roaches from Starship Troopers. Klatu was a great character, but he is not one of my favorites. I don't really like the Martians because they were meant as a way to parody aliens and it wasn't trying to tell an interesting story. The Roaches from Starship Troopers aren't really aliens, they are just killer roaches essentially. E.T. is a worthwhile mention that didn't make the list, but I do very much love the creature!
So there's my list!

My Top 5 Favorite Comedies!

Hey guys!

With Bruno coming up this week, I'd thought I'd drop a line and tell ya guys what are my TOP 5 of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE COMEDIES!!!

Feel like having a laugh? Then go out and find these movies and you'll have a blast!

This film is so over the top and utterly hilarious! You will laugh yourself to tears at several brilliantly funny scenes! The Monty Python crew are all in full-effect and in their prime here! This is definitely one you need to rush out and see right away!

Ok a WEED ACTION COMEDY and it is fucking hysterical!!! Go see this! You'll definitely have a blast watching this film wether or not your a stoner! But if ya aren't ya will still have a load of fun with this movie! Weed + Machine Guns = HILARITY!
GO CHECK IT OUT!!!

Before Will Ferrell's "different-profession" film burned out, this was the one that everybody looked up to as that perfect comedy. It is so over the top and full of one liners that you can just recite over and over again! Will Ferrell is in full effect here and he's utterly hilarious! Full of young comedians that are peppered all through-out the film! Utterly Hilarious!

Perhaps the best spoof that has been made. It borrows notes from every single action movie from the 1980's and inserts randomness at every corner...but it WORKS! It turns every action cliche' into a joke! Its such a funny ass movie! Definitely one that will get you laughing non-stop!

Ok, why I chose this as my all-time favorite comedy! What this film did for me, was it made me feel uncomfortable. I was Laughing non-stop! I thought this film was one of the more realistic of all the Comedies I have seen in the past. It's a great and touching little film that any one of us can relate to. This comedy is ultimately a coming of age film when you are way past the age you should have matured at and taking responsibility for your actions. This is a very touching and very sweet film. I whole-heartedly recommend this film to anybody looking for a movie with a ton of one-liners and a load of laughs!

Honorable Mentions:
Old School
The Hangover
High Fidelity
The Incredibles
Up
Borat
Clerks

Well guys! I hope ya enjoyed this list! Remember based soley on opinion! My picks aren't the best, but they put a smile on my face regardless!

Till next time guys! Enjoy the flicks!

My Top 5 Favorite Trailers of All Time!

Hey guys! With the summer blockbuster season already starting up again. We have something to look forward to once again...TRAILERS! So I'd thought I'd share my picks for my all-time favorites!
ENJOY!
#5. Watchmen Trailer 1

I remember watching this trailer that magical night I saw the Dark Knight. I was blown away. It was the Watchmen comic adaptation that I had always wanted to see but was afraid I'd never get. Its a great piece to get audiences in. I talked to a bunch of people that read the comic because of this trailer. The best use of a SMASHING PUMPKIN's song in a trailer. CHECK IT OUT!!!!

I remember seeing this trailer in a computer screen with the sound off when I was a kid and I was so taken away!!!! I LOVED IT! This trailer and this movie...is what got me into comic books! I owe a debt to this trailer for getting me excited for comics and what magic they can possess. The only familiarity I had with Spider-Man was the 90's TV series, and based off of that, I knew Sam Riami had gotten this absolutely right! I remember watchin this trailer over and over at my cousin Luis' house and He hated me watchin this every time! AWESOME AWESOME TRAILER!!! Sets up the movie very well and it's spirit.
PS: Check out the awesome
Original Banned Teaser Trailer that was taken down due to 9-11! THIS TRAILER WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE PEOPLE HYPED UP FOR THIS!!! As it says "It will take you for the ULTIMATE RIDE!!!"

After suffering through some terrible Batman movies and a Batman dead-zone of 8 years, i thought this trailer KICKED MAJOR ASS!!!! The teaser told you, they were going to take it seriously and make it kickass, but I was still a bit skeptical. This trailer made me think "ok, they got this down" and I could already tell this was gonna be the best BATMAN movie....b4 Dark Knight of course :) AWESOME AWESOME TRAILER!!! BATMAN WAS FINALLY SCARY AND THANKS TO THIS TRAILER!!!

OK, WHO DOESN'T FIND THIS TRAILER FUCKIN BADASS!!!! This gets u hyped up b4 they even show you one single frame from the film. It stands alone as it's own short film and it fuckin rocks hard. Its a perfect trailer to a great film! CHECK IT OUT!!!

OK...very few trailers had the particular effect this one did on me. I saw this trailer as a bootleg on youtube shot wit a video cam before I AM LEGEND started...and GODDAMN WAS MY JAW ON THE FLOOR!!!! Even in that degraded state this trailer fuckin ROCKED MY SHIT!!!!! The trailer started off great and hearing Heath's Joker laugh for the first time clearly was awesome, then came the Joker close-ups and OMG was I amazed! THE JOKER WAS FUCKIN SCARY IN THIS AND IT FUCKIN RULED!!!! I couldn't speak after i saw the trailer! THIS PROMISED MORE THAN THE LAST AND GAVE ME NO DOUBT THAT IT WAS GOING TO DELIVER MORE THAN THE LAST FILM!!! GODDAMN THIS IS A PERFECT TRAILER!!!!

Here ya guy! Hope ya liked these and heres my 2 cents once again!
